Welcome Deacon John

Bishop Richard Malone has assigned Deacon John Coughlin to Christ the King Parish at the request of Father John, our pastor. Deacon John, was a deacon of the Diocese of     Rockville Centre, Long Island since 2003. He recently      retired from his position as Director of Human Resources for the Diocese of Rockville Centre and relocated to Snyder with his wife Pat, who is originally from Kenmore. They have six children living in Western New York and Long    Island. Pat has two sisters, two brothers and her mother living in Western New York.

Prior to his appointment to Christ the King, Deacon John was a deacon at Blessed Sacrament Parish on Long Island. Deacon John holds his Masters in Theology from the    Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington, NY and an MBA from Adelphi University in Garden City, NY. 

Deacon John said he is excited about his retirement and being assigned to ministry with us “because he loves the Church and hopes to make some contribution to our faith community.”

Baptisms

Congratulations on expecting your child!  Before your child’s Baptism, parents are expected to attend a Pre-Baptismal instruction class held on the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the Msgr. McMahon Church Library. Attendance at such a program is necessary before any infant’s Baptism is scheduled – call the Rectory to reserve a space. Baptisms are usually celebrated at 1:15 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month, and must be scheduled in advance.

Marriages

Congratulations on your engagement! As a couple seeking a Catholic marriage, you should meet with the priest at least six months in advance of the marriage to make arrangements and set the date. Attendance at a marriage preparation program (Pre-Cana) is required. Pre-Cana Coordinators are David & Donna Ortolani, please call them at 633-9908.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

Is the Holy Spirit prompting you to become Catholic? Those who are interested in learning about the Catholic Faith should contact the Rectory.

Care of the Sick

Call anytime to arrange for a visit. If you desire to see a priest, please call as soon as possible. Arrangements can be for the sick to receive Holy Communion at home. Please notify the Rectory of sick parishioners who are in the hospital.

Anointing of the Sick

If you or a family member are nearing the end of your life’s journey, anticipating surgery or a stay in the hospital and wish to receive the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, please call the Rectory.

New Parishioner Registration

Thanks for joining us. We warmly welcome you to our parish community and we look forward to worshipping with you. Please call the rectory so that you are placed on our parish register.

Moving

We are sad to see you go. Please notify the rectory office when moving out of the  Parish so our parish register is up-to-date.

Letter of Recommendation

To act as sponsors for the Sacraments of Baptism and/or Confirmation can be given only to registered members of the Parish who are confirmed, attend Mass and receive the sacraments regularly. If the requesting person is married, the marriage must have taken place in conformity with the laws of the Church. Please stop by the Sacristy after Mass.
