CATHOLIC CHARITIES APPEAL 2010

Appeal Week March 21-28
 

With every donation to the 2010 Appeal for Catholic Charities, tens of thousands of people throughout WNY will receive the help they need at a time when they need it the most.  From basic needs like food, housing and heating   assistance to counseling for a number of problems facing individuals, children and families. Catholic Charities offers more than 70 programs and services at 61 locations throughout WNY.  For Whoever is in need, Wherever they  are and Whenever they need help, Catholic Charities is    always there. 10 GREAT DATES  \TO ENERGIZE YOUR MARRIAGE

     This program is being offered by Catholic Charities   Marriage Counseling Center, 3982 Main Street, (behind St. Benedict’s Church).  The cost is $61 per couple and includes 10 classes and course materials. 
Register by January 8.  

      Classes will meet at 6:00 p.m. on:

  February  25; and 

  March 4, 11, 18 and 25.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL DINING ROOM
 

Due to the poor economy, the St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room, located in Buffalo at Main and Bryant Streets, is    experiencing an increase in the number of guests it serves each day.  Your help is appreciated through the food       donations in the basket in the Church Vestibule and through monetary donations in the Poor Boxes, located at the Church entrance.

     Please join your fellow parishioners in this most re-warding ministry and help keep the chapel open for all who are in need of it.

CARE OF THE SICK

Sick Calls any time—Call the priest as soon as possible. Arrangement may be made for the sick to receive Holy Communion at home. Notify the rectory of sick parishioners who are in the hospital.

MARRIAGES
Arrangements should be made well in advance. Pre-Cana Conference is required.
Please contact David and Donna Ortolani at 633-9908 to make reservations


BAPTISMS

Parents are asked to call the rectory before the birth of their child to make arrangements to attend the require pre-Baptismal program.

Pre-Baptismal instructions for parents of newborn are conducted on the 3nd Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the Msgr. McMahon Library.
Attendance at such a program is necessary before any infant ‘s baptism is scheduled.

 


REGISTRATION

New parishioners are requested to register without delay. Please notify the rectory office when moving out of the parish. Envelops are issued to all parishioners for church support. Please request them if you are not receiving them at present.

 

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
Letters of recommendation to act as sponsors for the Sacrament of Baptism and Confirmation can be given only to registered members of the parish who are confirmed, attend Mass and receive the sacraments  regularly and either attend, have attended or have their children attending Catholic Schools or Religious Education classes. If requesting person is married, the marriage must have taken place in conformity with the laws of the Church.
