CATHOLIC CHARITIES APPEAL 2010
Target Weekend - March 20-21
Next Weekend, March 20-21, is Target Weekend for Catholic Charities. You are asked to look into your heart and give as much as you can. Please indicate the amount of your donation on the card you received in the mail, and enclose it with the check, cash or pledge and return it in next week’s collection, to the Rectory, or in the mail.
Your support of this year‟s Appeal is vital. Please consider increasing your donation this year, by pledging a larger amount, and making payments in several installments. A gift of $100 is less than $2 per week. Try to become a large gift donor group by giving a minimum of $250.
If you are employed by a firm that “matches gifts” to charitable institutions, secure a form from your personnel office and forward the completed form to Catholic Charities Appeal Office. Your contributions used to bring strength and stability to the community. Please give generously.

SNYDER, NEW YORK
MARCH 21, 2010
PLEASE NOTE:
A “GLITCH” WITH CATHOLIC CHARITIES
Catholic Charities has changed over to a new system this year for mailing out their donation requests. It is the first year using it, and it still has many bugs. You may have received multiple requests from Catholic Charities, and even requests for deceased relatives. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please disregard the extra mailings. You are still asked to give as much as you can, but you only need to give once!
CATHOLIC CHARITIES APPEAL 2010
Target Weekend - March 20-21
This Weekend, March 20-21, is Target Weekend for Catholic Charities. As we enter into Appeal week 2010, please ensure we reach our goal of $10.5 million by responding with your contribution or pledge today. Your donation educates, counsels and trains parents; provides care to young children; and provides social support to seniors, enabling them to remain safe and healthy in their own homes. Catholic Charities is also here to provide individual, family and marriage counseling; licensed mental health services; GED education and job assistance for youth; and clarifying sometimes confus-ing housing options for seniors and their caregivers.
Catholic Charities is always there. Whoever, Wherever. Whenever. Catholic Charities is always there. Please be there too.

ADORATION CHAPEL CLOSED
The Adoration Chapel will be closed from Wednesday, March 31 at 6:00 p.m., and will not reopen until Monday, April 5 at 9:00 a.m.. Church Law requires that the Chapel be closed during the Triduum (Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday), and we keep it closed until Monday morning for the convenience of our scheduled adorers.
GOOD FRIDAY
Liturgy and Celebration of the Lord‟s Passion and Veneration of the Cross, at 1:00 p.m. A collection will be taken during this service for the shrines in the Holy Land. The Holy Land is a special home across the sea, where Christ was born, lived, preached, worked His miracles, and died. Today, the Holy Land is in need. Most Christians who live near and care for the holy places in Jerusalem and Palestine are very poor or foreign missionar-ies in a foreign land. For over 800 years, the Franciscan Fathers have been charged with the care of the Holy Places. Our Good Friday collection helps support their ministry.

As the procession moves into the Church, each person in attendance will light a candle signifying Christ entering the Church. Scripture readings will be proclaimed and Baptismal vows will be renewed. Christine and Jason will make a Profession of Faith and Jason will receive the sacraments of Eucharist and Confir-mation. Immediately following Mass, a reception will be held in the Parish Library for everyone, so that they can congratulate our RCIA neophytes. Please join us at this very special event!

CATHOLIC CHARITIES APPEAL 2010
As of Sunday, March 21, CTK Parish has collected $162,780. We thank everyone for their donations thus far and encourage all others to send in their donations as soon as they are able. As we reach the culmination of Appeal Week 2010, ask yourself: Is there someone you know who needs help? Or do you and your family need help? Catholic Charities has 61 locations throughout WNY where we provide basic emergency services (food, prescription assistance, housing or heating assistance) and/or counseling for a number of problems facing individuals, couples, children and families. Call our administrative office to find the closest site at 218-1400
This Weekend, March 20-21, is Target Weekend for Catholic Charities. As we enter into Appeal week 2010, please ensure we reach our goal of $10.5 million by responding with your contribution or pledge today. Your donation educates, counsels and trains parents; provides care to young children; and provides social support to seniors, enabling them to remain safe and healthy in their own homes. Catholic Charities is also here to provide individual, family and marriage counseling; licensed mental health services; GED education and job assistance for youth; and clarifying sometimes confusing housing options for seniors and their caregivers.

GOD’S CREATION
“The environment must be seen as God‟s gift to all people, and the use we make of it entails a shared responsi-bility for all humanity, especially the poor and future generations… [S]eeing creation as God‟s gift to humanity helps us understand our vocation and work as human beings … Contemplating the beauty of creation inspires us to recognize the love of the Creator, that Love which „moves the sun and other stars‟.” - If You Want to Cultivate Peace, Protect Creation, Pope Benedict XVI (Jan. 1, 2010)

NOW THAT LENT IS COMING TO AN END ….
CAN YOU CONTINUE YOUR
GOOD LENTEN HABITS?
†Come to Mass Early and read the scriptures of the day before you hear them during Mass. You may find that you take more away with you.
†Stay for the WHOLE Mass. Don‟t leave Mass early. Stay and receive the blessing at the end of Mass.
†Set Aside one definite Prayer Time Every Day.
†Spend an hour with Jesus in the beautiful Adoration Chapel every week. Each moment we spend in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament deepens our union with Christ and makes our minds and hearts more peaceful on earth and enables us to live a happier life. .
†Come and pray with the Men’s Prayer Group which meets every Monday evening from 8:15-9:00 p.m. in the Upper Church. The rosary is recited along with other traditional prayers of the Church. Any man is welcome to attend at any time.
†Knit or Crochet a Prayer Shawl for someone who needs God‟s comforting and healing presence. You may knit one at home or join our group on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Church Library. The door open-ing onto the inside parking lot will be unlocked.
†Indulge in Spiritual Reading: Check out: www.sacredspace.ie for daily readings, reflections, and prayers. Other suggested reading: The Four Loves, by C.S. Lewis; When God Says No, the Mystery of Suffering and the Dynamic of Prayer by Daniel Lanahan OFM; The Humility of God, A Franciscan Perspective, by Ilia Delio; and Walking on Water, by Anthony DeMello. For more ideas on spiritual reading, call our Pastoral Associate, Renée Villa.
