OBJECTIVES OF RESPECT LIFE COMMITTEE
  • Treat all people with reverence for their value and dignity
     

  • Educate all parishioners, especially the youth, about life issues and create awareness for those in need, including the elderly, the handicapped, and most espe cially, the unborn.

  • Work for laws and policies to re lieve the economic burdens that pressure some women to obtain abortions, and encourage legisla tors to support all life-affirming legislation.

  • Help to change attitudes that accept abortion, euthanasia and assisted suicide as easy solutions to indi vidual and social problems.

  • Pray for the unborn, their mothers and our nation that we may all learn to promote solutions to human problems that respect hu man life and dignity.

  • Provide relief to those less fortu nate by organizing and partici pating in drives to gather useful goods to be distributed in areas where most needed.

CURRENT PROJECTS  AND ACTIVITIES
  • -Annual participation in Life Chain a silent protest against abortion held each October along Niagara Falls Blvd.

  • Special liturgy for Respect Life Sunday

  • -Staking of crosses in front of Church representing 1/10 of daily abortions in US.

  • Respect Life Christmas Card Sales

  • -Special liturgy marking the anniversary of Roe v. Wade decision legalizing abortion in the US. (January)

  • -Quarterly publication of Lifeline Newsletter for parish bulletin.

  • -Baby Shower to collect items for needy mothers and babies.

  • -Weekly Lenten Rosary with the intention to end abortion.

  • -Mother's Day Rose Sale

  • -Msgr. Lichtenthal Respect Life Essay Contest-held every other year for 7th and 8th graders.

  • -Pure of Heart speaker night-promoting chastity among teens-held every other year for 7th & 8th graders and parents.

    RESPECT LIFE MEETING AND EVENT DATES

    All Respect Life meetings are limited to hour, from 7:30-8:30pm and are held in Church library.
