SAINT VINCENT de PAUL SOCIETY
Christ the King Conference

MISSION: To seek and find the forgotten, the suffering, or the deprived and to bring them assistance in the spirit of God's love.

ACTION: Through personal interaction, including visitation, needs are determined and support is provided. Support may consist of giving food, clothing, furniture, bedding, appliances or assistance with rent or utilities, but always with spiritual emphasis.

ACTIVITIES OF CHRIST THE KING CONFERENCE

Implementation of the Action Items Listed Above:

Spiritual Comfort
Members visit the patients at VA Hospital and Roswell Park Cancer Institute and bring them the Holy Eucharist on a weekly basis.

Clothing Drive
The annual collection to stock the SVDP Thrift Store (1298 Main Street, Buffalo) is usually held at Christ the King Church in the fall.

Twinning
Support other conferences in carrying out the SVDP Mission, including conferences that are limited by size, age of membership, finances, or by volume of requests for assistance.

Christmas Program
Provide toys, food and financial assistance to inner city parishes, and
other organizations in need of help during the holiday season.

SVDP Central Office (web site - : www.svdpwny.org)
Provides service in the SVDP Dining Room (1298 Main St., Buffalo) by preparing and serving meals; provides food baskets and clothing to those in need; and assists the local conferences with guidance and support.

If you wish to donate furniture, bedding, or appliance, please call the downtown office at 882-3360 to arrange for pick-up.
